Flaming Gorge Activities –
Set out on your adventure!
Flaming Gorge activities are designed to help our guests make the most of their stay. When you visit Flaming Gorge and Red Canyon Lodge you get so much more than just a place to stay – you get an adventure. With permits for over 100,000 acres of Ashley National Forest to explore on your trip to Flaming Gorge. Don’t just stay with us, play, explore, learn, grow, and experience with us at Red Canyon Lodge.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
Rent an adult mountain bike right from our lodge. Head out on your bike straight from our cabins as you ride the Canyon Rim trail. See breathtaking views from the saddle of your bike. Single track beauty and fun! Or ride the road down to the Red Canyon Overlook. The visitors center is such a unique piece of architecture with views to match.

Bird watching
Here in the Ashley National Forest, we have migratory birds of all seasons frequenting our lodge. See the Osprey swooping down to feast on our recently stocked trout in the Spring. Catch the colorful hummingbirds at Summertime from our front patio. Spot our Steller’s Jays as the temperatures move in to Autumn weather, with their vibrant blue feathers and feisty mohawk hairdo. Flaming Gorge in the Winter? Catch the flocks of wild turkeys rummaging around the property for any left over snacks.

Guided Fly Fishing
Our private lake we stock each year with hundreds of trout ready to be caught. It is the perfect place to test out your skills and get a handle on fly fishing. We can also direct you to some amazing fly fishing guides to go adventure out on the Green River.

Sunrise hikes
No filter on this picture. The sunrises at Red Canyon Lodge are incredible. This is the view right out the door of our Ponderosa Cabins every morning. Glassy water, and a path that meanders all the way around our private lake. Take a hike through heavenly bliss on this Flaming Gorge adventure.

EAST GREEN'S LAKE
Set out on our private Green’s Lake, located just North of our main lodge building. This man-made lake is fueled by Winter run off, providing a fun water source for our guests to play on. We stock fish annually, with the ever popular Rainbow trout, and reintroduced in 2025, Tiger and Brook Trout. Take one of our boats out for a quick paddle around the solar aerator – powering and keeping our ecosystem healthy.
Don’t miss the blue diamond trail around East Green’s Lake!

red canyon visitors center
