Kayaks and pedal boats on the dock at Red Canyon Lodge

Kayaks, Canoes and Paddle Boards on Our Private Lake

We keep a small fleet on the dock at East Green’s Lake, our private stocked lake in the ponderosa pines. No launch fee, no trailer, no waiting behind a line of boats at a ramp — you walk down from your cabin, pick a boat and push off.

The lake is quiet water, which makes it the right place to put a beginner in a kayak or a kid in a pedal boat. Our staff will size a life jacket, get you settled and push you off the dock.

Every rental includes:

+ Life jackets for everyone in the boat
+ Staff help launching and landing
+ Access to our private lake, no permit needed for lodge guests

Longer trips. Canoes and kayaks can go out for more than an hour: $40 for a half day, $60 for a full day, or $80 for a full trip.

Also on the dock. Remington fly rods rent for $20 with recommended flies included, and adult mountain bikes are $20 with a helmet, in sizes extra small through extra large. Mountain biking · Fishing at Flaming Gorge

Swimming. Swimming is allowed in the lake. It is mountain water and it is cold, so take it slowly — we recommend a life jacket, particularly for children.

Big water. If you are after the 91-mile reservoir and its 350 miles of shoreline, Cedar Springs Marina is 9 miles away, with Lucerne Valley and Buckboard further around. That is where the ramps, the lake trout and the kokanee are.
